Content Modeling Best Practices
Think in Structures, Not Pages
The most common mistake in content modeling is designing content types around page layouts. Instead, model your content around the meaning of the data.
Keep It Flat
Deeply nested schemas are hard to query and maintain. Prefer flat structures with references between content types over deep nesting.
Use Consistent Naming
Establish conventions early: slug for URL-friendly identifiers, title for display names, body for rich text content. Consistency across content types makes templates simpler.
Plan for Multilingual
Even if you start with one language, design your content types with localization in mind. Alavio supports per-item locale tagging and translation groups out of the box.
